<p>Glossary, terminology, jargon, slang and gambling terms used in casino&#8217;s with the meaning and definitions of the words explained:</p>

<h3>&#8220;A&#8221;</h3>
<p align="left"><strong>A Bite</strong> : Request made by a player for a loan.  Also   &#8216;marker&#8217;</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Ace</strong> : In card games has value of one or eleven and ranks higher than any other single card or a single Die showing one spot.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Aces</strong> : In poker refers to a pair, the highest pair. In Craps is when a total of 2 is rolled. Also &#8216;two crap / two craps &#8216;, &#8216; snake-eyes&#8217;,'bullets&#8217;. In Blackjack have a value of 1 or 11, always split aces when playing blackjack.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Ace-Deuce</strong> : In Craps is when a combined total of 3 is rolled with the dice i.e. a one and a two.  Also &#8216;three crap / three craps &#8216;</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Across</strong> : A bet in  craps that covers all the &#8216;place bet&#8217; numbers 4,5,6,8,9,10 excludes the point by default but can be bet including the &#8216;point&#8217; if specified. Also &#8216;Numbers across&#8217;</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Action</strong> : The amount of money bet or wagered. In poker refers to the amount of money in the pot or pool. In casino floorperson terms the amount of the total bets &#8216;active&#8217; on a table or on the casino floor, depends on the context of the sentence.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Action Jackson</strong> : A player who is always gambling 24/7.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Active</strong> : A bet that is still &#8216;live&#8217; and has &#8216;action&#8217; that is it still is in play with a chance to either win or lose.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Active Player</strong> : A player that still has cards still in play with a chance to win or lose.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Add-on</strong> : The chance  to buy additional chips in a tournament or poker table.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Agent</strong> : A player who works with either the casino establishment itself or dealers or other casino employees either by fixing games, cheating or playing for the &#8216;house&#8217; when and as needed. Also someone who lures players to a rigged game for a fee or commission.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Aggregate Limit</strong> : Total payout liability of the casino during  one hand.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Aggregate Winnings</strong> : The cumulative total of winnings.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>All-in</strong> : Or &#8216;Going All-In&#8217; to bet all your remaining chips on the table, not having any remaining or allowable funds available for the rest of the hand in poker.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>All or Nothing</strong> : A ticket purchasable for Keno that only pays if  all your numbers are drawn or if none of your numbers are drawn.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Allowable odds</strong> : The maximum odds a casino will allow one to take.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>American Wheel</strong> : A roulette wheel found mostly throughout the US with 38 numbers and includes a different wheel number layout with an additional number added being the &#8220;00&#8243; also known as a double zero wheel which differs from the &#8216;European Roulette wheel&#8217; which only has one zero and all payouts still pay the same. The American roulette wheel offer odds far worse than its counterpart.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Anchor</strong> : The player who has the last decision at a blackjack table usually the player in the last seat or &#8216;box&#8217; thereby holding the anchor role. Also &#8216;Last base&#8217;</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Ante</strong> : The initial bet made at poker tables normally a fixed amount. &#8216;Ante Up&#8217; refers to placing that first bet.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Any</strong> : The &#8216;Any craps bet&#8217;.</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Any Craps</strong> : A &#8216;one roll bet&#8217; that can be made at the craps table that pays 7-1 should a 2, 3, 12 roll on the very next roll. This bet is usually placed on the &#8216;Come out roll&#8217; as insurance for a &#8216;Passline bet&#8217;. Also &#8216;Crap check&#8217;</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Any Seven</strong> : One roll bet that can be place on the dice table if a 7 rolls on the next throw of the dice pays 4-1 odds. Also &#8216;Big red &#8216;</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Apron</strong> : The outer most part or skirt of a table. Part of a delears uniform in some casinos to reduce the wear and tear on trousers.</p>

<p align="left"><strong>Bar on the first</strong> : <span>A bar on one of the craps numbers, either the two sixes (6/6), the two aces (1/1), or the ace deuce (1/2), if the number barred appears on first roll, it is a stand off for the wrong betters and the money rides for a decision on a later roll.</span></p>
<p align="left"><strong>Bar the 12</strong> : <span>Text printed on the &#8216;<span><em>Don&#8217;t Passline</em></span>&#8216; and &#8216;<span><em>Don&#8217;t Come</em></span>&#8216; meaning that should a 12 roll the bet will &#8216;<span><em>Push</em></span>&#8216; , &#8216;<span><em>Stand Off</em></span>&#8216;, have &#8216;<span><em>No Action</em></span>&#8216; or in effect have no winning or losing result &#8211; a tie. </span></p>

<p><strong>Cold</strong> : A term that things are not going well for players.</p>
<p><strong>Cold Table</strong> : A table at which people are losing and the run is benefiting the casino.</p>
<p><strong>Color</strong> : Used in reference to the chip association to a value and color.</p>

<p><strong>Column</strong> : A wager in roulette that pays 2 –1 and covers any one of 12 numbers in a vertical column.</p>

<p><strong>Come Line</strong> : The area on a dice table that is allocated to &#8216;Come Bets&#8217;.</p>
<p><strong>Come Out Roll</strong> : The roll that establishes a &#8216;Point&#8217; on a dice/craps table.</p>
<p><strong>Comps</strong> :The rewards a casino gives to players as a complementary service can be in many forms usually free or discounted hotel rooms, drinks, dinner or cash back plans.</p>
<p><strong>Community cards</strong> : Cards in poker that are shared amongst all the players.</p>
<p><strong>Contract bet</strong> : A bet, which may not be reduced or removed once a point has been established for it. (Pass line bets are contract bets).</p>
<p><strong>Corner</strong> : A bet in roulette that covers four neighboring numbers equally on the &#8216;layout&#8217;, pays 8-1.</p>
<p><strong>Courtesy line</strong> : The line between the 2nd and 3rd dozen where the 0-00 split wager may be placed as a convenience to players at the far end of the table pays 17-1.</p>
<p><strong>Cowboys</strong> : Pair of Kings in poker games.</p>

<p><strong>Croupier</strong> : A French term meaning casino dealer. Interested in &#8216;getting a job as a croupier working on a cruise ship?&#8217;</p>
<p><strong>Cut</strong> : Divide the cards so that a fair game can be played as the person dividing the cards did not shuffle them. Also &#8216;cutting&#8217;, &#8216;cutting the deck&#8217;, &#8216;cut the deck&#8217;</p>
<p><strong>Cut Card</strong> : A special card used to divide the deck when &#8216;cutting&#8217; usually made out of plastic. The card indicating the time to shuffle and the card used to cut the deck by the player.</p>

<p><strong>Dark Side</strong> : In craps, the betting against the shooter by betting against the shooter rolling the point.</p>
<p><strong>Deal</strong> : The act of giving out cards to players includes the acts giving of gambling objects in other casino games too.</p>

<p><strong>Die</strong> : Singular term for the square objects in use when playing dice/ craps, have six sides with numbers 1 through 6 and every aspect of them should be equal and balanced.</p>
<p><strong>Dirty money</strong> : Gaming checks from losing wages which have not been returned to the bank roll.</p>
<p><strong>Dirty stack</strong> : A stack of chips where different colors or different values are mixed together.</p>
<p><strong>Discards</strong> : Cards that have already been played and are no longer in use.</p>
<p><strong>Discard Rack</strong> : In blackjack, an L shaped device situated at the right-hand side of the table. The discard rack is used to hold the cards previously in play prior to the next shuffle.</p>
<p><strong>Disclose</strong> : To open, expose, reveal. As in disclosing a card.</p>
<p><strong>Dolly</strong> : The perspex marker used to mark the  last number that rolled on the &#8216;layout&#8217; in roulette.</p>
<p><strong>Donk</strong> : Short for DONKey a newbie poker player betting incorrectly with poor knowledge of the game.</p>
<p><strong>Don&#8217;t Come Bet</strong> : A bet in Craps the player places against the roll of an established number. Opposite &#8216;Come bet&#8217;</p>
<p><strong>Don&#8217;t Pass</strong> : The &#8216;shooter&#8217; in craps does not make/roll the &#8216;point&#8217; or rolls a &#8216;crap&#8217; on the &#8216;Come out roll&#8217;.</p>
<p><strong>Don&#8217;t Passline</strong> : A bet in Craps in which players have the opportunity to place against the &#8216;shooter&#8217; before a &#8216;Point&#8217; is established. Opposite &#8216;Passline&#8217;</p>
<p><strong>Double Down</strong> : An option that Blackjack allows to make an additional bet equal to the amount of the original wager on any two original cards. When a player doubles, he receives only one (1) additional card. Best played when player has a total of eleven with two cards dealt.</p>
<p><strong>Double down for less</strong> : See &#8216;Double Down&#8217; an option that lets you increase your wager for an amount less than  you have bet.</p>
<p><strong>Double Odds</strong> : A form of permissible odds available in Craps where punters have an option of &#8216;taking odds&#8217; in this instance they may take double the bet they wagered on the pass or don&#8217;t pass lines. These odds are calculated so as to be the &#8216;True Odds&#8217; of a particular &#8216;point&#8217; being rolled.</p>
<p><strong>Down Behind</strong> : The term used when &#8216;Lay bets&#8217; and &#8216;Don&#8217;t Come&#8217; bets that lose get taken down.</p>
<p><strong>Down Card</strong> : Cards in various casino games including blackjack and poker where the cards are dealt face down and are unexposed.</p>
<p><strong>Down With Odds</strong> : In craps when a player has a &#8216;place bet&#8217; that wins along with a &#8216;come bet&#8217; that comes onto the same number, they have a choice of taking the &#8216;allowable odds&#8217; on that new come bet and removing the &#8216;place bet&#8217; which is then called going down with odds.</p>
<p><strong>Dozen</strong> : A bet that covers twelve number in Roulette, that pays 2 to 1. Three of such dozens exist in roulette, first dozen includes the numbers 1-12, the second dozen covers numbers 13- 24 and the third dozen includes numbers 25 through 36.</p>
<p><strong>Dragging</strong> : Taking money from a bet before the cards are dealt.</p>
<p><strong>Draw</strong> : When a player or the dealer wishes to exchange or receive additional cards.</p>
<p><strong>Drop</strong> : Cash, credit or any funds that are accumulated.</p>
<p><strong>Drop Box</strong> : The box the casino dealer places cash, credit or any funds that are generated into.</p>

<p><strong>Hand</strong> : Refers to the cards that a player holds or is in ownership of, or anything that occurs during a card game between shuffling of the deck.</p>
<p><strong>Hard Hand</strong> : A blackjack hand that has a possibility of busting i.e. a hand total of 12 or over containing no ace&#8217;s is a hard hand. Opposite &#8216;Soft hand &#8216;</p>

Horn high &#8216;Yo&#8217; would cover $1 on 12,2 and 3 with $2 placed on the High number being 11 (&#8216;yo&#8217;) Also &#8216;Horn Hi&#8217;, &#8216;Horn Hi yo &#8216;,&#8217;Horn Hi Aces&#8217; ,&#8217; Horn Hi Midnight&#8217;</p>
