Poker Casino Dictionary
Glossary with meanings and definitions of the words used explained:
"R"
Racetrack : A printed area that the dealer uses to mark up call bets on some european roulette layouts.
Rack : A tray used to hold and carry casino chips.
Rake : The percentage that the 'house' takes as it's edge or commission over it's poker players.
Rake back : An incentive used to encourage more play by poker players by offering a percentage of money back from the pots they have contributed to.
Rank : The order of hands or cards set forth by the casino.
Riffling : Part of the shuffling process.
Riffle : The interlacing of two stacks of cards resulting in one full squared stack upon completion of the riffle.
River : The final card dealt in a hand of Texas hold 'em poker or stud poker. In 7 card stud poker, staying in until the final round of betting is known as 'going to the river'.
Rim : The ledge around the wheel cylinder.
Roll : The sequence of throws beginning with the come out roll and ending with a pass.
Royal Flush : The single most highest ranked hand available in poker. Consists five cards of the same suit which have to be in 10,J,Q,K,A order. See ' Poker hand rank & Rules of poker'
Run : A series of hands dealt, one can said to be having a good or bad run during this series.
