Poker Casino Dictionary
Glossary with meanings and definitions of the words used explained:
"N"
Natural : In Blackjack, refers to an Ace and 10 numeral value card i.e. a 21 with two cards also known as a black jack. In Craps, refers to a 7 or 11 on the first come out roll.
Net Winnings : Total of one's winnings subtracted from the original 'buy-in' investment or stake.
Neighbors : In roulette neighbors are total of five numbers made up of two numbers either side of a number that is selected. In casinos outside of the USA a punter may call bets that are placed on a 'racetrack' or memorized by the dealer by simply calling for example, 5 and the neighbors.
No action : In all casino games 'no action' means the bet does not stand a chance of either winning or losing. It can be used temporarily.
Non Value Chip : Chips of different colors which have no value until a
player buys in and assigns a value to them. These chips
must be wagered and cashed out at the table from which
they were purchased.
Nuts : In poker when you get the nuts you have the highest possible hand and cannot lose.
Numbers across : In craps, to bet equal units on all the 'place bet' numbers, one can include or exclude the 'point'.
Neutral Numbers : In craps, all other numbers not consisting of 2,3,7, 11 or 12.
