Casino and Poker Glossary: “M”
Marker : A pre-established line of credit with a gaming institution.
Marker Puck : The plastic marker used in craps games to mark up the point, one side has “ON” and the other side has “OFF” written on it which lets players know the status of the game.
Martingale : A negative progression system, the oldest known casino betting money management system in which you double the amount bet on each losing bet until a winning result is obtained.
Mechanic : A player or dealer that is skilled to ‘fix’ the results of a gambling game using various forms of cheating methods.
Midnight : In craps, when twelve rolls. Also ‘twelve crap’ or ‘box cars’
Mini-Baccarat : A smaller version of baccarat played on a table the size of a regular blackjack table.
Misdeal : The dealt hand is void due to an error that occurred.
Mirror : The mirror affixed to US blackjack tables that allows the dealer to determine whether or not he has blackjack or not by looking at the edges of the downcard for a mark. Also ‘tech art system’
Money Management : The various styles and methods of betting available to control your money and times set forth to end your gambling session. See ‘Martingale system’
Monkey : A term used cards with a numeral value of 10. Also ‘picture’ or ‘face’
